Another Moscow supermarket find, this one comes in a brown 33cl bottle with a black, gold and white label featuring a polar bear and silver and red foil around the neck. Purity law, of course. Best before April 05, I opened it on 12/22/04 (Happy Birthday, Dan).

Pours a standard clear gold under a thin and short-lived white head that leaves a few spots of lace. The nose is great: strong and malty, full of barley with no adjuncts and no skunk. Just clean malted grain. Mmm! The mouth is very prickly and quite light. Good classic pilsener flavor here, with sweet malt up front and a nice flowery hops kick in the finish. Both sensations linger in the aftertaste, with the bitterness eventually outlasting its companion. Good stuff!
