Brown 33cl bottle with a black, gold and white label featuring a polar bear on a snowy slope. Gold and blue foil around the neck. Procured at a Moscow supermarket. Purity law applies. Best before April 05, I opened it on 12/23/04.
Pours cola color under a one finger off white head that lingers a bit and generates a couple of rings of decent lace before fading to collar about halfway down the glass. The nose is sweet with caramel, but there's also a pleasant roastiness. The mouth is well carbonated and slightly sticky. Nice mild caramel and roasted nut flavor, slightly sweet but with an almost smokey tinge. There are some hops lurking here, too, adding a slight bite in the finish and a bit of dryness to the aftertaste. Nice session beer.
