Darmstädter Ratskeller Hausbrauerei GmbH “Cronator” Dunkel bock
€4,30/,4L vom fass at the brewery on 18 September 2021
Look: Hazy mahogany brown body with golden and orange highlights beneath a full head of slightly yellowed tan foam. Very good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Bready and toasty malt.
Taste: Malty with notes of grain, bread, toast, nuts, caramel, and a hint of chocolate. The order that you find these notes in changes as you progress through the glass, keeping it interesting. Nicely balanced by a median bitterness that leads it to a lingering, dry, malty, and softly bitter finish.
Feel: Medium-full in body and gently crisp then smooth.
Overall: Really nicely rounded and balanced. I don’t know what the alcohol content is as they don’t list anything for any of their beers, but whatever is there never shows. The name indicates that it could be a doppelbock but it doesn’t seem that strong, nor do they list it on their menu as such.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
