Refreshing and accessible, our traditionally brewed Kölsch-style beer incorporates German-grown barley and Tettnanger hops. Briefly lagered and slightly cloudy, Salt of the Earth is a beer for everyone.

This one is clear and pale yellow-gold with lots of random carbonation that ranges from fine to medium in size. A one and a half inch, fluffy white head slowly settles to a thick blanket over three to five minutes. A delicate patchwork of lace is left on a Spiegl stange.
The aroma opens with strong grains and hay. Light, peppery watercress follows. Warmth brings out a faint sensation of dry white wine.
The flavor is surprisingly bland, with mild bitterness. It does have some grainy flavors and a long, dry finish.
The body is light to medium, with a crisp texture of stiff nylon. The alcohol is as expected, as is the fizzy carbonation. It becomes dryer as it warms.
This is a decent tailgate beer where warmth adds slight character. I imagine it would go well with nachos.
