Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head and large chunks on final pour. Smells of light biscuity malt and berry, citrus, tropical hops, with notes of white grape, grapefruit and passion fruit. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly spicy hops, with berry, citrus and tropical notes of white grape, gooseberry, grapefruit, orange, passion fruit and mango, as well as some clove, white pepper and honey also coming through. Finishes with a light bitterness and some white grape, grapefruit, passion fruit and honey lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and coloration.
This makes for a nice, hazy TIPA that mostly avoids the pitfalls of the style, not feeling too sweet or boozy at all, although the hops feel perhaps just a tad overripe, but reasonably well-defined. The Nelson Sauvin really stands out here with those typical white grape and gooseberry, while Riwaka adds bright passion fruit and Citra grapefruit and mango. There's a certain spiciness to this as well, which I'm not sure comes from the hops or yeast strain here, while there's a certain honey sweetness in the aftertaste as well.
