16oz can from Brewers Haven. Cloudy amber pour, thin, silky off-white head. Malty aroma, sweet. Taste is malty, sweet, minor leather notes. Dry finish.

my first from these guys and in a style i really like, this is maltier and heavier than many, amber colored, robust on the grain side, but well made and tasty, timeless sort of, i could see this being a go to a beer generation ago, but something now that could be a little lost in the shuffle unless you know what you are looking for in this style space and seeking it specifically. definitely has lager character to it, also a little astringent in that way that suggests some warmer temperature fermentation, hints of apple and kind of autumnal to me, nutty, not sweet for being brick red, frothy headed in the glass, nice glow and well enough refined looking, cool color. i smells decomposing fruit, grainy baked goods, croissant or something, raisin, green fig, cider, very pleasant, even the tang, and the flavor is a bit more fermentation forward but doing the same thing, fruity grain notes, not hoppy really until some late bitterness and some recall there after the swallow, balanced though no more than that, some palate linger and residual sweetness, but all quite good. solid, i think pretty true to style, a bit more robust and fuller bodied and thus to me less sessionable than anchor, but its playing in a similar space. glad i picked this up, and curious to try some more of their beers, a new addition to the idaho market, ill snag some others soon!
