Spotted Octopus Brewing Company

Visited summer 2023. Came here because it had the highest google rating of breweries in downtown Buffalo. The brewery is in a narrow brick building, split across two levels and a small patio out back. It was a very lively bar, with karaoke upstairs (a brewery first for me). 12 taps, including 2 guest beers. Draft list is uninspiring: rice adjunct lager, cream ales, a golden ale, a bitter, a hazy ipa, a seltzer: it is almost as if the sole purpose of this place is to convert macro beer drinkers to craft. The quality was pretty average. I didn’t eat but they had bar snacks (pretzels, pizza logs) Overall I left underwhelmed. If you want “craft” beer while 20-something’s struggle with REM’s “it’s the end of the world”, this is your spot. BAs should put this low on the Buffalo area lost of destinations.
