Not the best modest man ive ever had. Just had another it smells nice but cant understand why it tastes like fuckin garbage. Maybe its the Galaxy everyone is down on these days but im kinda disappointed i bought these. Obviously no can on date from these guys not usually an issue with their stuff but i don't know why this is shit ! Feel bad about sub par rating but just not up to standards. These 4 packs cost way too much to taste like this !@!!

From a 32oz growler, filled at the brewery 07/19/23. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.
Pours a turbid, milky grapefruit juice-colour with a scant finger of soft, creamy suds. Retention is just meh, leaving a bubbly collar and a thin sheet of sudsy lacing.
Nose is sharp and weedy, pungent, fruity. Aroma of soft, squishy tropical fruits.
Taste is heavy, earthy, rank and composty. Tasting overripe pineapple and mango, garlic, aspirin and old grapefruit juice, composting cantaloupe rinds and citrus peels. A bitter, weedy aftertaste lingers.
Feel is doughy, juicy, medium-hefty bodied with prickly carbonation. A little more carbonation would have been appreciated. A low-grade acidy, boozy smouldering in the gullet - are there any Tums in the house?
Tastes and feels a lot … heavier? denser? than its stated 7.6% abv. Overall, not undrinkable but I’d be unlikely to revisit this one.

16oz undated can.
Pours cloudy yellow with short-lived head. Minimal retention or lacing. Pungent and dank in the nose. Garlic, unripe peach, weed, orange pith.
Medium bodied with a tacky, crispish mouthfeel. Pithy citrus zest on the palate with minimal malt and a firm bitterness. Finishes fairly dry with a raw, green bite.

This is not a review, but a critique to perhaps the best NEIPA brewers in NH. Modestman very seriously needs to get canning dates printed on their cans. It's all fun and games when you can't keep up with demand and everything is always fresh by assumption. However, this one was a serious shelf turd. I never took a sip after pouring the otherwise-clear, floatie-filled glass and took a whiff. I'm going to blame both the store for selling it without tracking its age, and Modestman for not dating their cans. $22 down the drain... very literally.
EDIT: I was able to exchange this beer for a different, fresher set of Modestman cans at Meredith Case & Keg... thanks for the righteous service Monty! I'll have to update my place review. He's going to contact the brewer. Hopefully they get on board with some date codes for everyone's sake.
