Received a bottle in trade from digita7693 who lives in Kassel where the brewery is located. Thanks Don.

Enjoyed while waiting for a plane at the Brussels airport. Poured into a pint glass. Body is a hazy yellow with lots of carbonation. Head dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing.

Smells of light malt, some floral and orange citrus elements. Thinking it may have some hallertau hops.

Tastes of malt and orange citrus, with a nice dry bitter finish.

Technically a lager, it is unfiltered and unpasteurized, making the body much more substantial. Carbonation is crisp and has a lively refreshing mouthfeel.

This is a very drinkable lager, I could enjoy a few of these and with a 4.9% ABV, it is sessionable.

The Hütt Brewery is one of two large breweries based near the city of Kassel in Germany, the other being Martini which produces the very average Kasseler. I think some locals tend to see Hütt as the more authentic of the two, possibly because it's a good bit older, it has a curious connection with the Brothers Grimm, it has a German name, and, most importantly, it produces better beer.

I don't know about the question of cultural authenticity but I can certainly vouch for the superiority of Hütt beer and the unpasteurized, unfiltered Naturtrüb is the best of their line that I've tasted. It's got a cloudy, straw-coloured appearance, just like a Weizen, and the best way to describe the taste is fresh - fresh and natural with a slightly herbal mouth-feel and a good hop/malt balance. It also has a fairly smooth drinkability. Not mind-blowing but definitely worth a try.
