Pleasant. Smells like chocolate milk, dutched cocoa powder. Initial sensation of light carbonation and sweetness followed by a whiff of cocoa powder fruitiness as a warmth settles alongside the bitterness on the end. Vanilla isn't explicitly detectable to me but definitely contributes to the bottled-chocolate-milk impression. Body lighter than expected from the sheer darkness of the stuff. Will have again.

Taster flight at brewery. Dark brown pour, opaque, ring of tan head, rings of lacing. Light chocolaty aroma with a little toast. Taste is roasty, chocolate, coffee and faint vanilla. Finishes dry
