DARK AND STRONG!
When winter comes, this will keep you warm inside. The dark roasted malt brings a fantastically rich mix of dried-fruit, fresh-baked bread and bitter-sweet chocolate. You will wish for more winter

Enjoyed this Bock on Christmas Day 2022, dark in color, true to the style in smell, and the mouthfeel was medium-bodied with a slight spicy touch on the tongue. The taste, however, had a metallic twang to it that tamped down as it warmed, but I never could shake it entirely. Still, it's a solid brew, and I'm glad I gave it a shot this holiday season.

Nice bock with notes of dark fruit, rich malts, a touch of hops. Aroma is malty, a bit sweet, lots of dark fruit. Feel is easy drinking bock, a bit cheery. Nice bock.

Pours murky, chestnut in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is chestnut and caramel. Low carbonation, sweet, medium heavy body. Nice sweet holiday bock.

Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a dark reddish brown with a fine, one finger light khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, molasses, brown bread and assertive skunkiness. Flavor is dry biscuit malt with light char, coffee, brown bread, hints of caramel. grassy hops in the finish with a solid bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. This was a pleasant surprise: a German bock with fairly forward hop bitterness. Unfortunately, it introduces itself (with warning from its green bottle) with a burst of skunkiness on opening and pouring. The aroma prepared me for the worst, but the flavor is quite robust and interesting. The malt roast has an almost umami flavor to it, which seemed closest to coffee that, along with the bold hops, set this apart from other bocks I've had. I really liked the flavor combination here. Grassy hops are not my favorite flavor profile, but I'd expect noble hops from a German brewer and here they are. I'm going to forget about the skunk and get this again while it's on the market here; I've never seen it offered before. Better than expected. Makes me remember why I have always liked bocks despite their relative scarcity in stores.

Green 500ml bottle. Date code 11.08.2022
It's ok but not as good as Germany's Best. Most of writing on the bottle is in German.
Not very strong flavored. Caramel, A heavily toasted bread. hint of chocolate and dark fruit. Has a dry finish. A hint of bitter hops on the finish

Semi-opaque brown with a tan head with small bands of lacing. Sweet caramel malts meet dark nuts, raisin, and sneaky mild old world hops. Taste has more intensity, some mild earth and booze add depth to the caramel and dark fruit. Well balanced body, smooth malts lead, hops ad definition, alcohol appropriately caresses the texture. A well rounded bock that is a cut above

quality bock here and you simply cannot beat the price! i have not seen this anywhere before this year, and it sort of marks the kickoff to the christmas beer weeks, enjoyed it last night with my wife, one of the more affordable and delicious german bottles we have encountered in a little while. its lighter in color than expected, definitely was thinking this would be deeper brown to black and with more body, but it looks almost delicate in the glass, super pale brown, even reddish tone with a frothing khaki head and a ton of bubbles, clearish and very lively, nice. it smells solid, just a touch of the green glass oxidation in it, which sometimes flatters german lager yeast in my opinion so i dont mind at all, its minor. some dry cocoa character from the malt, relatively dry overall it seems for being a malt forward brew, nice breadiness to the yeast, minerals to the water, and simplicity in general. i love the balance in the taste and the overall lightness, nothing about it really says christmas to me at all, but that doesnt really matter, not like i want this to be spiced, i guess its wintery enough. the malt is real dry, some raisin fruitiness to it, the yeast is flavorful as the grain, and there is a certain purity and quality to this that is really appealing. i also love the high carbonation, it drinks light and excited to me. delicious bock here, on the lighter side for the style, and for just a few bucks a large bottle, i will definitely be revisiting this soon!

From the bottle, it pours a dark brownish copper color with a nice off-white/light tan head. In the nose, it is malt and caramel. In the mouth, it is roast malt and burnt caramel malt flavor.

From Cervezasespeciales. In Bavaria glass. Reading JHTP11 Ch23. Very nice moreish caramel taste that makes it very moreish and refreshing, with enough bitterness to not be cloying. Not much wintery though

Dark burnt copper color. This head that disappears quickly. Smells a bit hoppy like a pils. Taste is like a roasted Shiner Bock; very malty and tasty. This is a nice go-to bock. There is nothing artisan about it but it is a flavorful bock. Worth a try.

Dark and strong, nice rich roast grain flavor. Dark brown in color with fast disappearing head. Good all-around, but lacking that something extra to put it over the top.
