This porter is proof that there is a beer for every meal, including dessert. The vanilla flavors hit your palate first, but aren't too sweet and blend with the toasty malt flavors perfectly. Creamy, but just slightly bitter, and fairly easy to drink for a porter.
I could see this going great with cheesecake, or a freshly baked cookie. However, I chose the flipside, and downed this one with a plate of onion rings (I'm all about the sweet & salty combo), but you really can't go wrong with this beer's great balance of flavors.

Off a tap this beer was a dark brown color. The one-finger, beige/tan head displayed very good retention as a collar and skim that left moderate lacing in streaks. The aroma was quite sweet and very much like chocolate chip cookie dough. Sweet doughy malt, chocolate malt and vanilla - very rich and appealing! The flavors started dry with roasted malt followed by a clear alcohol note in the middle followed by toasted malt, vanilla and chocolate malt. The finish was mildly bitter and pleasant enough but overall the aroma was better than the flavors. The mouthfeel was creamy, the body medium/full and the carbonation medium.
