Second run of poppin tops
We used 2024 Motueka hops with a Citra and Mosaic combo to create this enticing beer. The balance of citrus, melon, and slight pine completes an enjoyable experience that requires not just one pour but many.
Hops: Citra, Mosaic, Motueka

(review from January 2025) See initial review of original Poppin Tops from July 2024 (Solid, well balanced NE ipa with light haze; satisfying but softer mouthfeel; low-to-medium hoppiness and a subtle citrusy/tropical/fruityish-kinda flavor & a clean, quick-fading aftertaste. Very quaffable and disappears fast and easy.), this iteration with much less citrusy/tropical notes and a more melony profile. Seems less hoppy too? Still very quaffable indeed.

Pours a pale yellow-orange with a heavy fog to the translucency. Head is two fingers of off-white foam. Aroma is tropical fruit, papaya, and orange. Biscuity and doughy malts. Very light green note squeaking in at the finish. Flavor profile is tropical fruit, papaya, and orange again. Doughy malts finish it up. Big tropical fruits throughout, but not overly sweet. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Soft and consistent texture throughout. Overall, more on the mild end, but well put together.
