had on tap with dinner in pub also had personal tour of brewery by waiter since he was not busy then
Pours a nice golden brown with a good three finger frothy white head that left wonderful lacing in the mug
It smells of caramel and malts with a bit of fruitiness.
It tastes great with a lot of character and flavor of caramel, nuts, and a bit of citrus fruit. Also has a nice light mouth that leaves you clean and ready for another sip. Not at all what you would expect in a dunkel.
I was impressed and really liked this beer as it is very drinkable and would like to be able to have it everyday

Had this beer on tap and liked it so much I bought a 2L bottle of it, which was poured right from the tap.

It's a very nice chocolate brown, with a creamy head.

Smell isn't very strong, but there are some notes of caramel to it.

Taste is great! Starts out with a slightly burnt flavor that finishes cleanly with hints of caramel and some yeast.

I really enjoyed this beer, it is very drinkable and goes nicely with the food at Schüttinger.

The Schüttinger Dunkel is Schüttinger Brewpub's dark offering. It is a dark larger that is easy to drink. It pours a medium brown with very little carbonation and little lacing. It is brewed on-site so it has a fresh flavor. However, I've found most German fresh brewed beer to taste a little watery but still very tasty. This is no exception. The mouthfeel is light and even. The taste is malty but smooth and a bit of a very light caramel finish.
