Drank from my Duvel tulip. First Emersons beer in quite some time !

A - Pours a slightly cloudy amber colour with a frothy white head that retains well and laces.

S - Yeast, bread and dark fruits and plenty of it.

T - Plenty of hop and malt with genuine Belgian yeast carachteristics. The finish is a little too stringent in bitterness and sickly sweet.

M - Medium body with low to medium carbonation.

O - This beer does have some genuine Belgian qualities, but like so many other attempts from the Antipodes, lacks the true authenticity of a Belgian beer. So far only La Sirene Saison has hit the mark for me.

Belgian strong ale with a cherry-chocolate bar dissolved in it. Lovely!

A beautiful colour, warm palate, you don't pick up the high alcohol content with such a full aroma of chocolate and cherry. I can imagine this as a "dessert beer" or just a quiet sipper on a winter's night (this is NOT a thirst quencher after a hard day's work!).

Slightly hazy golden-yellow with a massive pillowy white head. Nose of apple, citrus and clove. Alcohol hits immediately in the mouth, Spicy and citrus fruit flavor as well. Surprising hop presence in the finish. Slightly undercarbonated for the style but still quit light mouthfeel. Little too in the face I think, but still a very good brew. Prime canidate for cellaring.
