33cl stubbie bottle poured into my Celebrator chalice
BBE 08 June 2011
A- Walnut brown body with excellent clarity. 2 finger creamy off white head reduces relatively quickly to a crown. Lacing is average to good.
S- Pepper, little raisin note, faint hint of doughy malt.
T- Malt domination isnt my first though here. More a slightly sour, vinious quality up front. A little chocolate malt tries to rear its head but dies quickly. Finish is semi dry with a tea like tannin quality.
M- Low to medium carbonation, clean lager finish.
D- Not a classic moreish malty bock. Oddly refreshing but doesnt represent the style well for me. Bottle was past its prime but any malty goodness was a faint memory.

A dark brown beer with a creamy head that settles into a small layer.
Smell is full of dark malt and chcocolate
Taste is malty with light roasted notes, that remind of chocolate and a bit coffee. A very light bitterness. The mouthfeel is sweet and a bit sticky. Aftertaste is sweet and lingering maltbitter.
