Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Moderately busy people-wise; 3 total dogs were there during our visit. The resident canine was friendly, which I suppose is a plus if you're into dogs. I'm not, but oh well, not a big deal. Anyhow, the bartender was friendly and helpful, the beer was mostly solid, and the taproom was spacious enough with various seating options. The bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained. Overall it was an enjoyable place to spend an hour playing Uno with my 6-year-old.

First visit. Situated in downtown Newark in sight of Erie Canal. East to find; good parking in rear.
Nice building with plenty of space and tables. Nicely decorated. Plenty of windows and natural light. Bar is attractive L shape…if modestly seated at @ 7-8 stools. TV behind bar.
Vibe was upbeat and friendly. Lots of smiling patrons as well as the 2 guys behind the bar. Was there soon after opening/4:00pm on a Thursday, and place already had 8-10 patrons ranging in age from 30 something’s to older/ retirees like me. Place was still adding patrons towards 2 dozen or so when we left after @ hour and half. Great to see.
Full bar…couples enjoying glasses of wine or cider as well as beers.
Draft system had 10 taps; 9 for their brews and a guest tap for a cider. Bar also served a number of n/a selections.
Service was attentive and happy to discuss brewery, beers and brewer. Obliging and proactive getting everything right in serving the customer…not just pouring the beers.
Selection was very good. While understandably small set up…they did have 10 taps with an excellent diversity for a relatively new nano brew pub. IPA; DIPA; Pastry Stout; Seltzer; Pumpkin Ale; Blond Ale; light Lager; Pilsner; Sour…plus guest Peach Cider.
Really something for everyone.
Throw in a crowler station for “take homes”…as well as swag/ merchandise.
Unfortunately this is NY… so no food per licensing strictures.
RBBC is clearly looking to do things right, and local support seems well underway.
Worth a visit!
