500ml draft
Pours two fingers of white head into a shaker pint. Retention is below average. Lacing is pretty good. Body is a cloudy pale yellow. Looks decent.
Nose smells pretty fucking good, ekuanot or simcoe? Definitely has some green pepper / gooseberry hoppy goodness. No yeast characteristics, clearly an American weizen, not German.
Flavor is decent, you get more bready malt character and the hops take a backseat until it opens up. Pepper and gooeseberry come out over time, even getting perfumey towards the end.
Carbonation is medium. Body is also medium. Bitterness is modest. Wheat gives a soft feel, but drinks relatively dry. Nice mouthfeel that clearly distinguishes itself from a hazy - lighter bodied and not loaded with yeast and grain proteins.
Drinkability is solid.
Overall starts out a little choppy on the flavor, but the hops open up nicely, and the wheat gives a soft foundation.
