Morocco. My loved home country. The only place in the world where violin is played on the knee and where argan trees grow. A country where emotions are more to lead interactions and reactions than rationality (often).
I initially intended to break clichés built on Moroccan culture without falling in the never ending “we are not bad guys” or "Did you hear about Arab erotic poetry?"
Creating La Marlouf appeared like an obvious thing to do. A nice project, allowing people gathering around a delicious thoughts and debates provoking beer flavoured with Moroccan tastes!

Beer by Yassine Kouysse / BeerSelect "La Marlouf"
4,90€ / 33 cl on tap at Lambicus Bar, Barcelona, ES
Look: A hazy golden body is capped by a short head of bright white foam. The head retention and lacing are both good to very good.
Smell: Grainy and sweetish malt, some mineral character, and subtle spice.
Taste: It's sweetish but not "sweet", but very close to it. Notes of dried golden raisins, orange, and dull herbs. A median bitterness along with some drying alcohol gives it a mainly dry finish that lingers with some herbs, citrus, and grassiness.
Feel: Medium-light in body and crisply effervescent.
Overall: A pleasant and enjoyable Belgian-style Tripel.

March 2022: 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8%. Moderately hazy pale golden colour, some floaties. Moderate white head. Distinct aroma of the Moroccan spices that are added, also notes of "spicy" Belgian ale yeast, hints of yellow plums. Light bodied for its strength. Moderately spicy flavour, mid between dry and sweet. Moderate bittering hops in the finish.
