Schad GmbH Erste Hallische Gasthausbrauerei "Zum Schad"

I come to Halle and Leipzig quite a bit for work. Zum Schad is the ok restaurant to get large portions for relatively little money. My co-workers jokingly refer to it as the "Cracker Barrel" of Halle as its cheap, decent and you get a lot of food. If that's what your into then go for it. However, Halle has much better places to check out. I would recomend the horse steak with potatoes and a nice Pils (like Radedberger...see below).

If you're at Zum Schad in Halle drink a Radedberger. It's a decent Pils and is brewed down the road in Dresden. I mellow (but good) German Pils. This is very drinkable beer and goes with anything, but not bold. If you're going to drink after the meal go for some adventurous German varietals.
