Our first barrel aged stout is finally here. We start with a robust base oatmeal stout, then age in Willett Rye Whiskey barrels for 12 months. During the maturation process we added a pound of Brazilian Chamissonis Vanilla which is amongst the most exotic and rarest on the planet. These oblong almost plantain like beans were the largest we've ever seen and smelled like an ice cream parlor. Flavors of chocolate cake frosting and whiskey almost overwhelm as you pour this beast, and the deep chocolate flavors last on the tongue for a long time and changes with each sip. A beer for the connoisseur of Vanilla.
