nice crisp and hoppy pils here, my first from these guys, high quality offering, easy drinking pint can, good pick up! golden shine to this, rather clear, an airy weightless almost inch of head floating on top, looks like it should. it smells decidedly european, crackery and kind of dusty on the pils malt, very full spectrum grain character, maybe not decocted but they achieve some real old world authenticity that stands out. its also well hoppy, herbal and grassy and spicy in the nose, not overly bitter but bolder than many, well lagered, dry, pretty straightforward it seems from an ingredient standpoint, but well composed and well executed. hoppy the whole way in the flavor, balanced with the fuller grain profile, but still hop driven to me, noble and spicy, relatively fresh, some minerality seems to enhance the hop bite, somewhat peppery at the end and more as it warms, lightly metallic i suppose, but it kind of fits with everything else going on, mild lager yeast in terms but snappy dry at the end and real crisp and brisk and everything i want a lager like this to be, well carbonated too. some hop bitterness hangs past the swallow, light lime character to it as well, green tea, lightly woodsy. nice pils overall here, hoppy but still a crusher, flavorful as they go, has me curious to try more from these guys. solid, fairly robust, tasty!
