Shot in the Dark

Enjoyed at Beer Rush. Typical porter look, poured into small snifter. Smell is subtle roast and malts. I really liked the feel, moderate bodied with just perfect level of low carbonation. Nose translates to taste along with some dark fruit characteristics. Good beer.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a thick black with minimal head. The nose is roasted malts, charred wood, ash, tar, tobacco, coffee grounds, and maybe a hint of very dark chocolate.

The taste is bitter malts, nice flavors of dark chocolate, coffee grounds, very slight dark fruit, dark bread, and a fireplace after the fire has been out for a few hours.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and the aftertaste is charred wood.
