Enjoyed a pint of Harpoon IPA (5.9%abv.) brewed @ the Banks's Brewery (Marston's), at my local Wetherspoon pub during the chain’s beer festival this month; served freshly by a swan-neck pour, this cask ale translation spells out the delicate balance b/w clean biscuity & honey-ish pale malts, savoury esters and moderate citric & spicy hoppiness, underlined by the long and mildly tannic bitter tang. A "mature" hoppy, moderately-attenuated ale, very quaffable indeed!

Official blurb first:
Cask; special for Wetherspoons Real Ale Festival October 2013.
Jaime Schier has travelled to Banks’s Brewery, in the West Midlands, to re-create a version of this beer for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. This is a copper-coloured beer with a floral, hoppy aroma and a hoppy flavour, balanced by a malty sweetness, leading to a refreshing, bitter finish.
Hops used: Apollo, Cascade.
Now my take.
Hand-pulled half-pint in my local Wetherspoons on 18th Oct 2013.
Nice, bright amber body, clear and clean: on top a thin covering of white foam.
Hops filled the nose: both fruity and floral, with some spiciness too.
The taste followed the aromas, some mild malt action below the surface, but hops ruled the taste just as they did the smell.
Not overly bitter in the mouth, but you knew it was heavily hopped from the start and the dry finish confirmed that, even if the malts tried to assert themselves as the beer warmed in the glass.
Good feel to this beer, the alcohol level helped to make it interesting and showing up it's character profile well.
