Bottle from Tescos APPEARANCE: Deep clear ruby red color wirh thin white head: AROMA: Mild, with notes of spice and some citrus TASTE: Spice from the Rye is upfront. Caramel and Bready on the finish with the spice linguring. Hop bitterness is balanced with the rye leaving a fairly bitter beer. PALATE: Medium bodied Ale with low cardonation Finish is dry and crisp. OVERALL: I was really impressed, as this beer is bottled as a store brand. It is my first Rye IPA, however I really enjoyed this. I want to now try other Rye IPA’s from mainstream brewers, but wonder how they will stand up to this one.

First of all Pale ale?
The body is almost cola brown and shaking the bottle and pouring in more than one gave it a huge cream coloured head that quickly halved but looks like it's sticking
The Aroma is okay consisting of brown sugar, rye and to be perfectly frank Pedigree
With a malty body and yeasty bitter finish with the minimal rye flavour
this isn't a rye beer
but unlike the other revisionist rather than being watery or lacking flavour
this is filled with bog standard Marston beer flavour
Give it a go if you want to dip your toe into rye beer
it's a bit like a paddling pool with that analogy
