Banks's Chocolate Mild

Tasted again two days later in the same pub after my first encounter with this beer last week.

The smell has more malty entry--a sweet coffeeish note clearly stands out, but the good depth of earthy Fuggles hoppyness retains. On the palate, more sweet chocolate-flavoured fudge springs to mind, bringing aboard lots of crisp-textured bitter and roasty edge and an herbal-sweetness before it reaches a dryish end. A smoked/burned coffeeish overtone along with licorice make an aromatic ending touch. More thirst-quenching this time, with a more robust body. Nice one!
