Before the invention of the cooling machine, bottom-fermented beer was brewed for the last time in March, traditionally stronger, so that it lasts correspondingly longer. This explains the name of a seasonal beer that still enjoys great popularity today. It is still a little stronger, spicy and hop-accented at the same time. The Berg Märzen is always served fresh from the barrel in country inns, inns, restaurants and pubs at the beginning of the year.
