On tap at Crook Point
You know if there’s a new brewery in Rhode Island I have to try it. This felt like a safe bet as it’s hard to screw up a lower abv Stout like this. Let’s see what it’s all about
Pours completely pitch black with a finger of creamy light tan head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is pretty straightforward but I have no complaints. I’m picking up on aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla ice cream, light roast coffee, brown sugar, dark toast, and light raisin
It’s more of the same in taste but I dig it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting brown sugar, caramel, milk chocolate, vanilla ice cream, dark bread, light roast coffee, and light herbal hops. The swallow brings notes of brown sugar, burnt caramel, cocoa powder, herbal hops, medium roast coffee, and light raisin
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a roasty beer. Finishes mostly dry and slightly acrid
I’m not particularly impressed but it’s a damn decent beer
