What a fantastic surprise! On tap at Tavern 23 in Po-town.
Clear with a faint protein haze, this pours golden amber in color with a low, white head of lacy foam.
Aroma is rich and grain-y, mash tun aromas of cracked barley and caramel, sweet, herbal nose along side the delicious fresh brewed character. Very old school that reflects real talent in the recipe and brewing.
Flavor follows with more caramel and grain flavors blended seamlessly with perfectly balanced hop flavor and firm back end bitterness. Grassy and coniferous hop notes, toasted nuts and English muffin, toffee and scorched brown sugar all in compliment of each other - each flavor distinct and full of sumptuous beer character.
Finish is just as balanced with lingering pepper and pine needles and hints of candy sugar.
Exceptional balance in a medium bodied vehicle that was quite possibly the tastiest pint I have enjoyed in quite some time.
Far better IMHO that other "hazier" styles I've had from this brewery and one I will seek out in the future if they continue to brew it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
