Meetinghouse Beer "Living Thing"
12 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating. Contract brewed by Tonewood in Oaklyn, NJ.
Look: Black body with orange, ruby, and golden highlights beneath a short head of densely creamy khaki colored foam. The head retention and lacing are good to very good.
Smell: Aroma of caramel and dark bread.
Taste: Notes of cocoa powder, golden caramel, medium-dark and reddish caramel. Moderately bitter but balanced. Nicely rounded.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp-then-smooth.
Overall: Certainly a decent enough dark beer that hits the spot.

12 oz can
appears almost black in color, but some light gets through the edges of the glass to give some ruby colored highlights. Roasted malt and licorice. A little sweet in the finish. Medium bodied.

This is a thick (for the ABV) and roasty dark lager, with notes of coffee, burnt toast, and some mild nuttiness. Smooth mouthfeel and a very enjoyable bitter aftertaste.
