Varitage Brew Works

This small brewery is located in the heart of downtown Bloomfield. There is an inexpensive parking garage just a few steps away. The space is located in a fairly new building but it has a decidedly industrial vibe with high ceilings and exposed piping. The tasting area is located adjacent to the brew house. The space is quite small but that makes it lively. What sets it apart is the soccer motif. There are numerous European football pennants hanging from the walls. The brewery has a sports atmosphere and there are multiple large TV screens throughout the space. The brewery does not serve food and there doesn't appear to be room for food trucks but there are numerous food options just steps away which deliver. In fact, there was a great aroma of pizza and wings throughout. The staff is friendly and efficient. The beer itself was well-brewed and enjoyable. You can purchase cans. I wish there were more canned options. Overall, Varitage is a friendly and fun venue

I worked down the street from Varitage and watched the construction from day 1 during my afternoon walks, anticipating the opening. Owners Mark and Neil have come a long way since then. The small, but cozy, facility has a bar and numerous tables alongside the brew tanks. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, as are the patrons who frequent the brewery, and usually either Neil or Mark or sometimes both are there. The tap selection is varied and I’ve had some very good beers there, with my favorite being their seasonal, Holiday On Broad St. Stop by an check them out, you won't be disappointed.
