Irrelevant Beer

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a one finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit, mild melon and a touch of dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit, green melon with a little dankness and pine in the finish; nicely bitter, lingering aftertaste. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A quite nice, dry real West Coast style IPA with very bright lemon character; a fleeting lemon drop ester note in the late taste. Although this is dry hopped, it reminds me of local fresh hop profiles and really got me in the mood for the upcoming season. I got this one in Oregon, but wish I had gotten a few more to hold me over. Not very complex, but tasty. Nicely done. I'm hoping the reported surplus of hops this year is going to result in a lot of fresh hop ales this year.
