Alas here we are, reminiscing with the utmost clarity, no mnemonic device necessary, it’s all still so fresh, a total recall. Initially brewed near our inception, this decadently rich Imperial Stout was aged in Bull Run Bourbon Barrels for 2 years. Be enamored by flavors of Toasted Marshmallow, Vanilla, Oak and Bourbon with a lightly boozy plum aroma.

16-ounce can purchased at Belmont Station in Portland, OR. Date stamp reads "BOURBON BARREL AGED 25 MONTHS 02/14/26". Enjoyed in a nonic half-pint glass.
Effectively opaque black-brown body with attractive red-orange highlights at the edges. A heavy pour raises a thick head of biscuit brown foam that ebbs to a heavy collar and patchy skin that leaves clumpy lacing. The nose is roasted malt, marshmallows, whiskey, and fruity dark chocolate with a kiss of smoke. The flavor is largely the same, leading with vanilla, whiskey, chocolate syrup, and plum preserves. There's also caramel, black bread, a whiff of coffee. The finish is roasted malt, oak, vanilla, and booze with flecks of raisin and cocoa powder. Overall, it's a notch or two sweeter than I prefer. Body seems thin for the beer's size, but is agreeably smooth. Hot alcohol finish. Overall, this is a good barrel-aged imperial stout and an excellent value for the price.
