Look: Amber in color and cloudy with a silky, off-white head that finishes as a lid and leaves nice lacing behind

Aroma: Freshly baked bread, raw dough, lightly toasted bread, some earthiness, and toffee

Taste: Starts out with a lightly sweet hit of toffee that lingers for just a moment before the bready assault begins. Tons of bread, toast, dough, and crust flood in and develop depth as earthiness peeks in throughout and these all develop nicely through the close

Mouthfeel: Full, clean, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and crisp, clean, and smooth on the finish

Overall: I dig it. This is a good Czech Amber Lager with a lot of depth and really good flavors and aromas throughout. Amazingly this beer is almost 10 months old (oops, my mistake) but has held up exceptionally well. I’d love to try it fresh if it’s still this tasty at that age and definitely worth the try if you see it

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark coppery amber with a two finger white head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of bready biscuit and lightly caramel malt, sweet brown bread, light toffee and faint grassy hops; inviting. Flavor is bready and caramel malt, mildly sweet dark bread, dark grain, toffee and light grassy hops. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A pleasant amber lager that has a traditional tasting malt with bready, caramel and a touch of biscuit. More caramel and grainy bread notes in the taste. Smelled nice on opening and drinkability is high; a bit mellow, but lots of different flavors to parse. Czech traditional lager styles have become popular with American brewers and it has been a positive influence. I've drifted away from pilsners and domestic ambers, but find these Czech influenced ones quite enjoyable. Looks great too.

Can from Mongers

A clear amber with a dense, off-white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is excellent, soft, bready, doughy, with caramelized dough and toasted bread notes. Moderate earthy hop character. The palate is toasty, creamy, softly caramelized with lovely depth and creamy, doughy bread. Drying, clean, bitter and softly hoppy on the finish. Lovely.
