Look: Rich copper in color and clear on the pour, which generates a lovely off-white head that settles to a silky pillow, leaving a ring of lacing behind
Aroma: Raw bread dough, toasted bread, wafts of toffee, floral hop notes, light graham cracker, and earthiness
Taste: Opens up with a mix of graham cracker, raw dough, and toasted bread that strike quick on their own before seamlessly blending together and followed by floral hop notes. Tea rose, candytuft, and cherry laurel stand out and light earthiness is present too as these weave around and interact with the malty mix through the close
Mouthfeel: Full, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and lightly soft on the finish
Overall: I dig it. These folks are new to me and I desperately needed more Maibocks in my life this spring so jumped at the chance to get two birds stoned at once with this offering. It’s a tasty and well-made Maibock that checks all the style boxes and honestly, grew on me a lot as I worked through the 4-pack. I love that another brewery available to me produces and packages this style and I look forward to trying their other offerings in the near future. Recommended
