Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 4/25/24.
Appearance: medium-light golden hue with a dash of haze and a thick finger of ivory foam atop.
Smell: quite sweet with a fair dose of orange peel; this reminds me of an old-school American barleywine almost; its aroma indicates a sweetness and strength way above its 6.5% ABV. It’s not bad, but it’s a little … simple.
Taste: ok, the orange peel comes in stronger than the sweetness (in contrast to the aroma); again, it’s decent enough, but a bit old school and one-dimensional. Bitterness is a bit high for the balance. Not bad, but merely decent in my estimation.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a moderate carbonation and a reasonably decent creaminess. Not bad at all.
Overall: this beer seems well-made and will definitely have its audience; however, that audience is not me.
