nice little four pickup by me, if i dont mind saying so! there is something up with this brewery that i cant quite put my finger on yet, so im buying all the new ones i see, but i have to say their lager game has me intrigued, and this one is good and interesting without being hoppy enough to be polarizing really to anyone but the euro pils purist, like this isnt trying to be a west coast pils or anything, bitterness is super tame, hop intensity is mild, and this is a drinking beer, lager first, subtly jazzed up with some new zealand hops, and it reads botanical and springy, professional, and poundable. impossibly light looking, yellow colored but real minimal and see through even without quite perfect clarity. well over an inch of rising sudsy white head on this that looks almost too dense to float on this liquid, refreshed by constant carbonation, really looks nice in the glass, it calls to me. the aroma is more chill on the hops than the taste, somewhat more generic too, grassy and green with underripe melon and like a daffodil thing going on, way more fruity when i drink it, kiwi and honeydew, elderflower and champagne, highly mineral forward too, slate and wet rocks and stuff, very crisp. i smell only a little pils type malt, the lighter side, a tad doughy and clean, neither raw nor toasty, sort of neutral, keeps the whole thing mild, the flavor just a tad more robust, crackery maybe, simple though. the lagering is excellent, somewhat european there, not crazy old worldy and bold, nor invisible, it just plays its background note very consistently. the hops add a little bitterness, a green lawn thing, and some soft vinous fruitiness that gives this a nice lift. insanely light body, refreshing and crushable, thoughtful light beer seemingly built for these 100 degree days we have been having. stoked to have some more cans in the fridge to rip this weekend! these guys are making exciting beers.
