Very dark, like a stout, with just a slight tawny edge. Modest foam in the Petrus goblet. Rather thick and malty for a Schwarzbier, which is quite interesting. Seriously browned and charred flavors. Some sweetness marked by burnt sugar.
Some hoppy flavors to go with the bitter darkness. Very chocolatey and coffee tasting. Quite drinkable, but a flavor powerhouse rather than a quaff. Hops are listed as Pahto and German Tettnanger. From the 32 oz crowler purchased at GameCraft's brewery-restaurant.
