Had on-tap at Gamecraft Brewing in Laguna Hills, CA
Appearance - Served up into a snifter, somewhat clear and golden orange in color, and a thin, broken layer of suds cover the surface. A few lines and small spotting makes up the minimal lacing.
Smell - Fruity, herbal and lightly smokey. Odd, but enticing.
Taste - Follows the nose. There's a definite herbal/medicinal/smokey character that lays the base for this brew. Fruitiness pops with hints of papaya, orange, pineapple and a faint trace of stonefruit. Balanced finish, with juicy fruitiness mixing it up with that herbal/smokey character.
Mouthfeel - Medium-to-full in body with fair carbonation. Smooth through to the finish.
Overall - Maybe the most unique DIPA I've ever had; certainly in recent memory. It works though. My taste buds are quite fascinated.
