Pours a surprisingly dark reddish brown, exactly like a Weizenbock. Plenty of foam in the Blanche de Chambly tall glass. Described as "a Czech-Style Dark Lager" and a collaboration with Resident Brewing. Rather sweet with a robust roasted grain taste and a big dose of caramel. I don't find much hoppy aroma, it's more grainy with a touch of herbal tea.
This is really quite drinkable but hard to think of it as a PIlsner. More of a Schwartzbier meets a Brown Ale, and really not much more hop flavor than either. There is a bitterish aftertaste, though. From the 32 oz crowler can purchased at the brewery restaurant.
