Picked this up as a four pack from Aldi. Endeavour Brewing are a small craft brewery that operate out of The Rocks, in Sydney. They've had a little bit of issues financially recently, but hopefully they can stay afloat. I do Endeavour (yeah, see what I just did there...) to get along and visit their tap house eventually.
Vessel: 375ml can, with a lovely blue design on the front, emanating a relaxing a chilled beach. Purchased at Bankstown Airport ALDI in early Jan 2024. Drank a week or so later. Best Before: 17 April 2024.
Appearance: A lovely golden colour, frothy 2cm white head, and a lovely haziness to the beer. It's not dense, but hazy like an early morning mist on the beach. Looks like a solid pale ale.
Aroma: As suspected, they're going for a tropical Pacific Ale style here. The regulars of mango, orange, manderin peel, and grapefruit have all shown up for a surf. There's a hint of passionfruit in there too. Underlying this grommet group of beach fruits is a biscuity malt just keeping things reasonable. That said, it is subdued a little, but there's enough going on Smell wise.
Taste: Really delicious bitter medley of fruits going on. Mango, manderine peel, passionfruit and mango. It's got a refreshing bitterness at the forefront of the sip that stays on your tongue. Sadly it finishes a little watery, and the back end of the sip tastes like watered down fruit juice.
Feel: It's thin, highly carbonated, but quite watery. A better body would make it nicer, but tropical/summer/Pacific Ales/ are designed to be thin and somewhat watery for humid tropical conditions. It makes a good beach beer.
Overall: A bit more oomph with the hops, and slightly less watery, and they would have had a real high 4s score here. It's a nice beer, and I like how the bitterness is more evident than the malt. It's a really decent summer sipper.
