In collaboration with Jonathan Moxey. Meaning half dark, this beer is a traditional amber hued Czech style lager. Brewed with a triple decoction mash adding complex malt flavors of toasted malt, caramel and slight toffee and hopped with a stiff dose of Kazbek, Premiant, Saaz Comfort and Saaz hops.

Had on tap. Mostly clear amber red body with beige head then settles into a thick collar with large amounts of lacing sheets. Smell and taste are clones: earthy barley underneath roasted malt with burnt caramel, faint pipe tobacco, and dry earth with orange zest, mild hops and brighter yeast playing off these tones. Feel is light but well toasty and roasty with a dried out finish, but does thin out through the sip a bit. Certainly new world, but true to style
