a light to drink but full of flavor pale ale, low on the bitterness but big on the hops, all or mostly citra i am certain, a nice and fresh expression of the varietal, clean overall, very good. blonde colored, perhaps unfiltered, but definitely not a hazy, average white head on it, lots of carbonation. the nose is brimming with everything we all know and love about citra, but its also not as one dimensional as citra can sometimes be, i get lemon curd, lemon candy (although the beer is dry), and honeydew melon, some yellow florals too, and a real simple pale two row barley base it seems, a light pils type note to it, all very tidy, especially the ferment. flavor follows the nose, this is bright and fresh and citra driven, earthy, a green tea note but never really very bitter, just crisp. i like the dry and light malt, but its not invisible, so this has great balance to it. it warms to lemongrass, lime leaf, beeswax, and meyer lemon, slight oily linger but still fast finishing, and with explosive carbonation that really makes it thirst quenching. love the low abv, and how much character they have brought out of this varietal. just a pale ale of course, but a darn good one. nice start for these guys, it was a short visit in here for me but i was stoked on it!
