A full-bodied amber ale with legs on both sides of the Atlantic. Aromas of stewed fruit, sultanas, pine and brown sugar are interwoven with flavours of toffee, marmalade, chocolate and citrus.
Assertive bitterness with long-lasting flavours and aromas. A UK classic with an American twist

Purchased at the source in South Geelong in October 2024. Drunk in December of that year.
L: The beer is the colour of rich caramel with a slight haze and a thin, dirty white head atop everything. Looking through the glass, lots of bubbles can be seen working their way upwards.
S: The nose has a rich, deep caramel base under bright yet dank grapefruit notes. There's also a slight tobacco and a dark, earthy note. All up, it's quite alluring.
T: The taste follows the nose: rich caramel, toffee, and bitter dark chocolate with dank grapefruit and orange notes. The finish is long, tangy and sweet, perfectly counterpunching the rich darkness of the start. I could spend many happy hours with this flavour compilation.
M: The mouthfeel is full and rich, with moderate carbonation and a big - perhaps too big - carbonic kick on the swallow.
O: In my opinion, Red/Amber Ales and Red IPAs are not brewed anywhere near enough, and they hold this distinction with their cousin, the Black IPA. This is a wonderful, flavourful beer and one that I will definitely go back to.
Cheers!
