Purchased at the source in South Geelong in October 2024 and drunk in February 2025.
L: This one is black in the glass with ruby highlights where the light catches the beer around the edges of the glass. There's a thin rim of off-white head and a few bubbles spotted at the edge of the otherwise impenetrable blackness.
S: Big notes of raspberry and sweet chocolate. Very nice!
T: The taste is a big hit of sweet vanilla, milk chocolate, and raspberry, with a slight touch of roast at the back and an unexpected but pleasant warmth in the chest upon swallowing. The beer is so tasty and tangy that I immediately take a follow-up sip, which might increase the warmth I'm feeling. One thing for sure is that this beer is delicious; I'm struggling to recall a stout that I've had that expresses the vibrancy of fruit better than this one. A great job.
M: The beer is full and thick in the mouth but comes across as a little undercarbonated, which is usually a problem with sweet beers, but this one makes it work. There's a mild carbonic kick on the swallow.
O: This is an outstanding stout and absolutely worth grabbing if you ever come across it.
