yet another derivative of this sweetened cream ale base, lactose in it, this time its pineapple and coconut, and as forced and sort of candied as it is, its summery and tasty, brings umbrella drink vibes, and is an obvious crowd pleaser this time of year while the weather is nice and hot. being critical, i want it to be cleaner, drier, and i want more from the base beer, its too sweet, its not real natural on the added flavors, and its not as light and bright as it could be, lacks refreshment value. being more favorable, the proportion of pineapple to coconut is excellent, and i like how they hit at different times, more juicy tangy pineapple up front, more rich creamy fatty coconut later on, and i do think the lactose does more for this than it does for either the blueberry or the coffee version, definitely has that coconut milk thing happening with it. subtle white wine, vanilla bean, and honey, this stays on the palate awhile. this is flavored beer through and through, some people love that, to me it reads a little forced, but the flavors are cohesive and i expect this to be popular. better than the blueberry, less good than the coffee, seems like they are going to do a lot of playing around with this base beer, curious to see where it goes next!
