Racy, tangy and herbal, Burl brewers are taking the tastebuds to New Zealand at least for a few sips. Their all down nunder flavors give their hazy IPA an exotic spin.

Pale and slightly tarnish lemon in color, Prism captures a lot of light as it's cloudy appearance allows for a faint glow. Above it's cottony white blanket of froth lies a tantalizing scent of green fruit, tropical fruit, citrus and fragrant woods and herbs. Moderate sweetness of cereal and malt gives a smooth shortcake character dashed with powdered sugar and a hint of cookie dough. It's a perfect base for the hops to shine as the bevy of Nelson Sauvin, Rakau, Riwaka and Motueka varieties bring a cocktail of under ripened orange, white grapefruit and lemon followed with passionfruit, green papaya and white grape. All cast in a juiciness of honeydew and a nearly tangy and bright hop flavor shines through. Finishing with a spicy bitterness of sassafras, cedar, verbena, green tea and hemp, the session closes with a bright bitterness supported with juicy fruitiness.

Burl smashes all the boxed on what the unique hops of New Zealand have to offer. Their grain bill never gets in the way but provides a firm hazy base and smooth balance.
