16-ounce can enjoyed at Legends, the 107IST clubhouse for the Timbers Army and Rose City Riveters. Followed up with a can at home, purchased at Noble Hop Bierhaus in Hillsboro, OR.
The nose has some clean, grainy malt and a burst of zesty citrus. The flavor is quite dry, with a crackery malt character. The malt flavor is light, but it persists through the impressive bitterness that follows. Notes of lemon peel, grapefruit pith, pine resin, and a tantalizing woody character underneath. Light body, slightly overcarbonated, quenching finish. I think I've found my new go-to beer on hot and humid match days. And proceeds from every pint go to the Gisele Currier Scholarship Fund, a popular and worthy charity. To borrow the tagline of Ex Novo Brewing: "Drink beer, do good."
