R&B’s Sun God Wheat Ale is a North American style Kristal Weizen (a filtered wheat ale) producing a crisp, clear and refreshing beer. Significantly cleaner tasting than your typical Hefeweizen (unfiltered wheat ale), Sun God is a light-bodied wheat ale made with the highest quality Canadian wheat and 2-Row malted barley and is bittered and finished with premium German Perle hops producing a delicate cereal flavour with a hint of wheat. The perfect patio beer with or without some added citrus.

Cloudy yellow appearance with little head that quickly disappears, but leaves decen lacing. Smell consists of honey, grain and bananas, very light overall though.
Taste consists of honey, grain and malt but mostly dominated by wheat. Picked up a hint of spices and sweetness as well. Like the smell though, it's very light. Light bodied with low carbonation. Aftertaste is a dry, grainy taste.
I consider this wheat beer light. Has a balanced mixture of tastes, but not enough kick to it. Worth a try if you want a different wheat beer. Definatly a seasonal beer.

Had a couple of glasses in a quiet bar in downtown Vancouver.
The beer looks good: great looking head with great retention and small carbonation bubbles floating to the top. It has the colour of of a darker apple juice. It is clear and appears filtered.
I became disappointed on the smell. I get a definitive white wine smell, a lot of yeast, and a hint of wheat (but maybe because that is what I was looking for) or grain. Much the same disappointment on the taste: the only flavour I can detect is banana, plus a significant amount of yeast taste.
Love the mouthfeel and carbonation, though. Light-to-medium body. Low hops and no bitterness.
It looks and feels good but the beer disappointed on the smell and taste.

new bomber at Willow Park Wine & Spirits
A - clear straw golden, two fingers of white head dissipated to about 1 finger and retained there nicely
S - wheaty grains and light banana yeast smell
T - the smells were subtle, and the flavour is even less prevalent, grainy wheat malt and not much else
M - watery thin with decent carbonation, just slightly dry
D - disappointed, it really just tastes like a run of the mill light lager, biboergosum's comparison to Big Rock Grasshopper is very apt.

22oz bomber, brand new in our fair Albertan city from barely midtown Vancouver, it would seem.
This beer pours a slightly hazy pale golden yellow hue, with two skinny fingers of weakly puffy and sudsy off-white head, which leaves some decent mesa formation lace around the glass as it quickly drops away.
It smells rather sweetly bready - grainy wheat and caramel malt alike - a hint of baked banana, some middling earthy honey notes, and soft leafy, musty hops. The taste is more fairly sweet wheat and grainy caramel malt, gritty orchard fruit, edgy field honey, a very soft pepper aerosol essence, and fading leafy, earthy hops.
The carbonation is moderate, just a pleasantly understated frothiness, the body on the lee side of medium weight, and generally smooth, with a faint hint of airy creaminess. It finishes well off-dry, the grainy wheatiness still good to go, with a subtle orchard fruitiness hitching on for the ride.
Take Big Rock's Grasshopper, the unfortunate progenitor of this all-too-inclusive style in Western Canada, add a fuller, rounder body, reduce the carbonation, and well, folks, exhibit A flowers in front of me. Nothing fancy, just an easy-drinking pale wheat ale, for all yer (next) summer patio needs.

I drank copious amounts of this at a wedding and suffered no hangover. The beer is light easy to drink and has some balnced flavours including a pleasant finish. Much like Big Rock's Grasshopper this is an alternative to lagers and a good beer for those wanting a summer pint. This is not complex or fruity but I guess the American Wheat category has to be seen as a unassuming drink.
