Notes:
R&B Brewing Co., in partnership with Salt Spring Coffee, is pleased to announce the launch of our newest beer, Spirit Chaser Coffee Porter. We’ve infused a rich porter with direct trade coffee from the Aceh Gayo region of Indonesia to create this uniquely flavoured brew. A heady ale with a chocolate and roast coffee flavour, this beer is a wonderfully balanced drink and a proudly interesting addition to the R&B line up. Try this collaboration that spans from the jungles of Sumatra to the urban jungle of East Vancouver.

Very dark and a strong nose that redolent of iced coffee and chocolate. This is a good porter that really show off the coffee flavour. i enjoyed the coffee notes on both the finish and the midbody but I can see how some might feel this is too much. All in all a good solid porter with a low ABV and the added bonus of a nice coffee kick

A: Pours dark brown with a finger of tan head that has good retention.
S: Coffee and a nice heavy malt smell dominate the aroma.
T: Dark roasted coffee, a little burnt taste with a nice sweet caramel like malt flavor. There is a bitterness at the end that is reminiscent of a strong black coffee.
M: Medium body and good carbonation with a bitterness that lingers.
D: It is an OK beer little to much coffee but otherwise worth a try.

New brew from R&B. Not sure if this is a regular release or a seasonal, but it certainly doesn't disappoint. Dark brown and ruby in the colour combine with an Ovaltine-like nose that has notes of bitter coffee.
Bitter black coffee taste. I can pick up brown sugar, maple syrup and malt. The black coffee character is predominant and almost distracts the taste buds to the point of ruination. This is definitely a dessert beer.
Good, low carbonation but in flavour this seems a bit overdone.
